Training

Team JJ Marshal's Club Wales Rally GB Senior Officials Training
Motorsport UK registered volunteer Marshals are some of the best trained marshals in the world. To ensure that marshals are trained to the highest standards they are required to attend regular training days in order to acquire and maintain their marshalling grades. Training is delivered using a modular approach, tailored to the individual’s needs.
There are well over 100 Marshals’ training events delivered nationwide throughout the year.
The high level of training provided means that Motorsport UK registered Marshals are held in high regard across the globe. Over 500 British Marshals regularly attend a wide range of overseas events each year – at the invitation of the organisers – to share their expertise.
Motorsport UK has a number of training modules available to aid the development of its Marshals.  These modules are normally delivered by Motorsport UK Licensed Trainers, either at large training sessions, Club evenings or if just a few individuals wish to get together.

Team JJ Marshal’s Club encourages all members to attend regular training sessions and we have an active training requirement database to help with organising training sessions.
There is a grading system that helps marshals progression through experience, this is managed by Motorsport UK. Details of the grading schemes for the various branches of marshalling can be found HERE.
The starting point for marshals is the online training sessions, these are 4 short modules and a short assessment that cover the basic of roles and responsibilities, incident handling and spectator management. This will take less than 30 minutes. Log on to the Motorsport UK website and visit the training hub.  click here and either login if you are an existing Motorsport UK member or register if you are new.
Once you have passed the online training, then register with Motorsport UK as a card-carrying Accredited Rally Marshal! As a registered marshal with Motorsport UK you will:
1.     Receive a Marshal’s tabard, registration card and Personal Record Card (PRC), so you can keep a log of your activity as a valued volunteer in the sport.
