Radio and Frequencies used in Team JJ MC
Team JJ MC have been authorised by Motorsport UK to use the call sign Auto JayJay. Although in normal radio communications the word "Auto" is not used when communicating.
Club members can apply for a callsign to be allocated to them, they must have a Motorsport UK authorised set with the correct frequencies programmed or be in the process of purchasing such a radio.
The clubs radio coordinator will then issue the next callsign available and the details of the radio and callsign will be passed to Motorsport UK. Members wishing to have a JayJay callsign please contact the club for advice.
The club also have a Business Radio (Simple UK) licence issued by OFCOM. This gives the club the authority to use a number of frequencies available from OFCOM. The club has chosen two frequencies in the "high band range" (Vhf business frequencies) and these are referred to as JJ1 and JJ2 (not to be confused with JayJay 1 and JayJay 2 which are Motorsport UK issued callsigns), members of the club are then authorised to use these frequencies. The club has a supplier of "high band" radios and other equipment at reasonable prices. Please contact the radio coordinator for more details.
The club also has a healthy interest in Amateur Radio, commonly known as Ham radio. A number of members are licenced amateur operators and regularly run "nets" where like minded radio enthusiasts meet. The club is looking to expand more interest in this part of radio operations and members interested should contact the Deputy radio coordinators.
